During the 4th World Conference on Technology and Engineering Education held at Slovak University of Technology (SUT) in Bratislava, Slovakia, between 2 and 5 September 2015 the Dean of the Faculty of Architecture (FA) A/Professor Ľubica Vitková and the WIETE Director, Professor Zenon J. Pudlowski met to discuss several issues including the possibility of expanding the level of cooperation by establishing a partnership between the two organisations.

As a result, a Memorandum of Understanding was formulated and signed by the two parties on 10 September 2015, and exchanged by correspondence.

Under this agreement, it is expected that the two parties will engage in, and promote research and development projects in engineering and technology education with respect to programmes taught at FA-SUT. It is also envisaged that other bilateral activities will be carried out under this agreement, including the possibility of establishing a WIETE-affiliated centre of excellence. Professor Robert Špaček, Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Architecture, will oversee the joint activities on behalf of the FA-SUT, and will represent the Faculty on several WIETE Committees.
