On the invitation of the WIETE Director, Dr Eugene Berman, Head of the Computer Applications in Engineering Laboratory and Head of the Centre for Global Engineering (CGE) of Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Beer-Sheva, Israel, paid a brief visit to Kraków, Poland.

The purpose of this visit was to discuss possible collaboration between the CGE and the WIETE, with particular emphasis on carrying out joint research projects in relation to global engineering, and the impact on the process of formation of future engineers. Areas for potential projects were identified and discussed, and will be reflected in a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) concerning a potential partnership. It is anticipated that the two parties will sign such an MoU in the near future, subject to approval by University authorities.

The WIETE Director invited Dr Berman and his University colleagues to participate in the forthcoming 4th WIETE Annual Conference on Engineering and Technology Education, to be held in Cairns, Australia, between 11 and 15 February 2013.
