The WIETE Director commenced his visiting programme at the Department of Electrical and Power Engineering (DEPE), AGH University of Science and Technology, Kraków, Poland, commenced on 3 August 2012. He decided to commit a considerable amount of his time to working with Professor Stanisław A. Mitkowski, Head of the Department.

The DEPE, under Prof. Mitkowski’s leadership, has been one of WIETE’s active partner institutions since its inception. The DEPE was the host of the 1st World Conference on Technology and Engineering Education, held in Kraków in September 2010.

The programme involved discussions on the contribution of the Department's academic staff in research and planning the development activities in engineering and technology education, and the promotion of their achievements through activities carried out by the WIETE. One of the specific activities was work on research papers concerning the Department’s research and development achievements.
